Changes to the Directors Election Process

Last spring, the membership approved a set of changes to the bylaws to allow the election of directors to be held using a mail or electronic ballot.  The Board of Directors took action at their last monthly meeting to establish that future elections will be conducted by mail.   The Board of Directors’ goal in using this election process is: to increase member participation in the cooperative’s governance by making it easier to cast a vote in the election: and/or run for the Board of Directors.   Members can be nominated for the Board, either by the nominating commit

Don't Let Summer Heat Place Strain on your Electrical System

Increased electrical use in summer can place strain on a home’s electrical systems. During the hot summer months, members run the risk of overloading wiring systems due to the extended use of air conditioning and other cooling mechanisms, possibly resulting in serious shock or fire. If the home has an old or damaged electrical system, it has an even higher chance of danger.

A new scam has arisen claiming President Obama will pay your utility bills through a new federal program.

How the Scam Works:

Consumers are being contacted in person and through fliers, social media and text messages with claims that President Obama is providing credits or applying payments to utility bills.
